EOR Select / EOR Snapshot ... Chemical EOR Screening and Pre-Evaluation and Analysis Made Simple.
EOR Select is a Chemical EOR Screening package used by the sales team and engineers at a leading, international oil and gas service company. This application helps users pre-screen EOR project candidates. The package includes a fully functional database design, license controls, computational engine, reporting modules, and map displays, along with a reference manual for new users.
The basic version of the software, “EOR Select”, has been successfully implemented with sales and engineering at leading chemical EOR service offices in the US and international locations, however a new version is being offered, to include more robust computational ability and efficiency. This upgrade makes the software more user-friendly and will screen Chemical EOR technologies far more efficiently than the combination of methods currently being used.
The new version, “EOR Snapshot”, includes the following features,
BASE Module
o EOR Database Reconstruction
o Significant Improvements to Installation, Navigations, and Notifications (Additional numerical validation for inputs, Enhanced report preview display, and Improved query file associations and run capabilities from Windows)
o Computation Engine Enhancement
o Quick Query Enhancement
o “Range” / Batch Query Implementation (Computationally performs composite analysis of up to 2 million quick queries, using ranges from only one simple user entry, providing a much more comprehensive result for EOR field analogues and scenarios)
o Local and Web-based Application Platforms (to help avoid IT issues that have plagued smooth implementation of the current model with engineers)
o Improved Map Module (Results Display)
o Interactive Documentation (Reference Manual / Technical Description)
o Optimized License Control
Simulation Modules
Implementation of a simplified approach to numerical finite-difference and some statistical simulation of simple injection and production patterns of various IOR and EOR processes. Input parameters from the query are combined with requested reservoir parameters, approximate geometry, additionally required estimates for geology and flow parameters, and estimated reservoir parameters. This presents a novel and unique approach as it uses a combination of a real field data base, and dynamic flow modeling. This application can be used world-wide for faster estimations by sales teams and engineers without having to posses years of simulation experience, and undergo complex training and support costly licenses associated with other commercial simulation products that are not specific to EOR screening. This includes,
o Includes primary production and water-flood scenarios
o Polymer injection, and basic surfactant design and surfactant injection scenarios
o Explicit geomechanics to incorporate polymer adsorption effects, and permeability reduction with adsorption and pressure reduction
o Adjustment to well patterns and increased flexibility with injection and production schedules / constraints
o Automation of COMPREHENSIVE simulation case of EVERY project in the database utilizing parameters provided for the query case. Results of the simulation are then re-run through the Euclidean algorithm presenting analogues of not just the project inputs but also of the results, with influence of reservoir and production parameters if desired
Additional Modules
o Query Run Manager (QRM) to provide a query management platform for users to compare results from multiple queries run. If simulation packages/options are purchased, query manager helps manage results from multiple simulation runs and simplifies result reporting.
o 2D/3D Query Visualization Modules to present a very user-intuitive platform to visualize analogues and queries in a 2D cluster and 3D space. This helps simplify the algorithm and understanding of the concept of Euclidean “distances” between projects and proposed queries.
